[ :( well to start off with I have bipolar II disorder, and I am incredibly stressed out at the moment. I work all day at a taxing and mentally stressful job only to come home to my jobless husband. Unfortunately, he would rather look up gay porn then even touch me. But mainly I feel I have no one to talk to unless I pay $70 therapy session to only get theoretical junk. My own family thinks I am over dramatic, so they don't even try to have a relationship with me.

Hey birdlady, welcome. I like your username :)

I'm sorry you're having such a rough time.. Sometimes we don't click with out therapists, but therapy is so important! My therapy is really interactive and full of practices not just theory, so you might want to try and find something that suits you best.

About your husband, doesn't seem very healthy... is he taking advantage of you financially?

And about your family, families often do not understand. Glad you joined us, we are a group of non judgemental, comprehensive people :)

Welcome again

Thanks, I have been up all night literally sick to my stomach and it's nice to have a voice that is judge-free to sort out my rapid thoughts! As far as my husband goes, I am perplexed with not being able to sleep I wandered onto his computer and found things that I didn't approve of-mainly because there was proof of him cheating on me. He's currently building our house,i e working for free, but yes he is financially dependent on me. And for my family, you would think that they would understand considering I have a family history. However, I think they care more about appearance than reality.

I know all too well family caring more for appearance than reality... My sisters couldn't care less. The occasional phone call has gone missing since last christmas.

Sorry your husband is cheating on you. That's terrible. What do you intend to do?

welcome again, birdlady.....I'm really sorry to hear about your situation. I hope you'll stick around.....you'll find a lot of understanding and support here.

I do agree with AG about the therapy......if you're not clicking with your current one, maybe it's time to think about a change?

More tomorrow, I have to hit the rack...... :)

Birdlady,

Nice to meet you. This is a great site with many caring and compassionate people.

Sorry things are so tough for you right now.
Snowflakes gently floating from the sky just dusting the ground. Then it picks up bigger fatter flakes cascading from space at a faster rate. From a dusting to a trace. Then the deluge comes. Oh what joy. Watching everything slow to a crawl, then a stop. Step outside and even with things moving it is quiet. It is a giant muffler the earth is wearing. Causing everything to be muted. To be calm.By me

Welcome, birdlady. You do sound distressed, and with good reason. I think you can already see that people here are compassionate and understanding and never judgmental. You're safe and respected. Hope you'll be active here.

Yes, I do need a new therapist especially one that lives closer to me. My current one is an hour away drive. So I guess I can ask my psychiatrist who he would recommend, since he himself left the original practice because he wasn't happy. Is it possible to find a medical balance of medication and therapy that won't leave me feeling dull? And I think I need a hobby!

The initial dullness usually goes away, and also we always feel dull after mania or hypomania, so sometimes dull is just normal  Takes a little while to get used to it.

Good luck in getting yourself a new therapist.

A hobby is always a good idea. :)

Welcome!
Sorry you are feeling overwhelmed or stressed. We've all been there. I sometime find that when I am depressed...it is hard for me to come up with solutions. A good therapist is probably the best way to go.

Glad you found us!!!

Up again and tossing and turning, but don't know why when I have been consistent with my medication for over a week. Plus, seriquel always puts me to a "coma" like state.

Hey birdlady, do you have anxiety issues? My moods hardly mess with my sleep, only when I'm manic or severly depressed. But my anxiety makes me toss and turn even with sleeping pills, usually my benzo takes care of that for me. Although I only take it when it's like midnight or 1am and I'm still wide awake.
