Lessons of the year

Relax, catch up on old friends, enjoy each other, and whatever else comes to mind! Like having fun!!

We're all going through the positives and negatives, as we usually do this time of year, but I'm curious about life lessons this year, to put a positive/learning spin on the mood of the day.

I learned a lot of things.

1. I realized recently that even if I tell everyone I'm bonkers, they're always surprised about how lucid my bonkerisms actually are, and about the amount of bonkers I actually am

2. I learned a lot about PTSD and complex trauma, and still have a lot to learn. Learning how to be able to sit through emotionally charged therapy sessions without absolutely freaking out, was my biggest lesson of the year.

3. Learned more about my cycles of bipolar, what ticks and triggers me, and what calms me down. Pro tip: cocoa (chocolate, if you prefer) cookies and hot tea are my go-to coping mechanism to handle a hard life.

4. Internet fights are useless but a lot of fun.

5. Biggest one of them all: Shit happens but life goes on. Still adjusting to this one.

What about you?

In that vein, I don't have to keep my mouth shut out of fear of offending people, and I can handle offending people without the world ending.

Otherwise, this year has gone past in a kind of a non-stop blur.

The wife is always right till she admits she is wrong..
Snowflakes gently floating from the sky just dusting the ground. Then it picks up bigger fatter flakes cascading from space at a faster rate. From a dusting to a trace. Then the deluge comes. Oh what joy. Watching everything slow to a crawl, then a stop. Step outside and even with things moving it is quiet. It is a giant muffler the earth is wearing. Causing everything to be muted. To be calm.

Lessons of the year...

1. Im never going to be what I thought I would (or achieve what I thought I’d achieve) because of this damned illness... but I’m becoming ok with that.

2. My issue with making friends isn’t their fault it’s probably mine.

3. My kids and husband are incredibly awesome and are totally the best thing in my life and always will be.

Bahahaha!!!

1. I learned my past recklessness was not simply because I’m a douche canoe.

2. I learned I’m BP2 and what it means. Still trying to recognize different cycles I’m going through and triggers.

3. Before being dx’d I truly didn’t understand what someone with BP went through and what it meant, I love this word AG... I didn’t understand their bonkerisms. Now understanding my own, it is exactly that...an “ism” but it’s not being bonkers.

4. And I learned that is someone can’t accept me for having a mental illness, well they can kiss my ass and let the door hit them in the ass as I slam it.

I learned that having bipolar disorder isn't the end of the world, and that I can still be successful despite this illness. I have an interview tomorrow for a job at a preschool, so I'm hoping it will work out! I love kids.

Also finally learned the alphabet aerobics rap.
